This interesting pattern makes great necklaces and bracelets. This
photo is from a tapered necklace that I donated to the Juvenile Diabetes
Research Fund Gala in 2007.
I acid-etch brass and copper to make components I can add into other
pieces. The glass and pearl are bezel-set, and the brass is riveted on.
The silver base is also stamped.
This piece was created by making a framework of sterling silver (for
strength), then fusing fine silver across it in interesting lines and
shapes. The opal is nestled in like a flower peeking from a trellis.
Primal. The silver takes its own shapes as it flows, forming a
eutectic bond with the copper. Any copper left exposed takes on the dark
red color you see here, giving a lovely contrast. No two pieces could
ever be the same with this technique.
I created these earrings by etching brass and rolling it with silver
to impress the pattern onto the silver, cutting discs from the silver,
doming them, and soldering them together.

ever be exactly the same with this technique.
The metal tube beads were made by cutting copper tubing to size and
fusing fine silver onto each one. The natural colors of the stones
complement the metal. The clasp is sterling.
